Books in Homes program provides the motivation to enjoy reading at home.
The Books in Homes program got off to a fantastic start this week at Urana Central School when students from Kindergarten to Yr 10 received their 3 new books for this term.
The program aims to improve students literacy skills and develop and maintain a love of reading. They get to choose the books and take them home and share the reading experience with their families.
The program will be further expanded in 2011 when the children can choose another 3 books in Terms 1, 2 and 4. This means they'll have 12 new books to read and share in a 12 month period.
Every picture tells a story! The primary students were very excited to receive their new books and could hardly wait to get home and get stuck into a new book. Happy Reading!
